Operation underway to recover those trapped in mine
Rescue operations are ongoing in Quetta as teams work tirelessly to locate coal mine workers trapped underground following a gas explosion that caused a collapse. According to reports, several individuals have already been rescued, but four more remain awaiting extraction.
The incident occurred at a private coal mine in the Khost mining area, situated 80 kilometers east of Quetta, on Tuesday evening. Despite fears surrounding the fate of the remaining trapped workers, rescue teams, including those from the government's mining department and the disaster management agency, are actively engaged in recovery efforts at the site.
Unfortunately, such accidents are not uncommon in Pakistani mines, where hazardous working conditions and inadequate safety standards contribute to the risk of gas explosions and mine collapses.
