Two sides agree on joint efforts to eradicate terrorism
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif recently met in Islamabad to discuss strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation.
PM Sharif highlighted the significance of President Raisi's visit, noting that it marks the first by a head of state following Pakistan's general elections. He extended a warm welcome to the Iranian President on behalf of the nation.
In response, President Raisi expressed gratitude for the hospitality extended by Prime Minister Sharif. The two leaders also agreed to collaborate on joint efforts to combat terrorism in the region, as well as to promote trade ties between Pakistan and Iran.
Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar also engaged in discussions with President Raisi, focusing on bilateral relations, regional developments, and global issues. Both emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral ties and reiterated their commitment to peace and constructive dialogue for addressing regional challenges.
President Raisi received a warm welcome at the Prime Minister House, where Prime Minister Sharif greeted him and a red-carpet reception was provided, accompanied by a guard of honor presented by a contingent of the Pakistan Army and the playing of the national anthems of Islamabad and Tehran.
